A Note on Coverage for the Next Two Weeks

It is auction season in New York. Starting on Tuesday, there will be daily emails with a mix of free and paid content. Tuesday is Christie’s 21st Century Evening sale, we will have results and an after action report on Wednesday morning. Wednesday is the Emily Fisher Landau Evening sale at Sotheby’s, we’ll have results and an after action report on Thursday. Thursday is Christie’s 20th Century sale, we will have results and an after action report Friday morning.

The following week beginning November 11, Monday is Sotheby’s Modern Evening sale, we will have results and an after action report on Tuesday; Tuesday is Phillips Evening sale, we will have results and an after action report on Wednesday; Wednesday is Sotheby’s The Now and Contemporary Evening sale, we will have results and an after action report on Thursday.

For paid subscribers, we’ll have a detailed analysis of the results on Tuesday of the next week when our regular publishing schedule should resume.


Preview Video: Sotheby’s November Sales

Sotheby's $940 million November auction season is dominated by the estate of Emily Fisher Landau which includes important works by Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Cy Twombly, Jasper Johns, Ed Ruscha and others. There are also major works by Claude Monet, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gerhard Richter, a second major Picasso from 1932 and Joan Mitchell.
